Up until 2 years ago all Anna's education was based in the sciences. Then .......Anna discovered ceramics....... and fell in love!
If she was asked to describe her ceramic ethos she would tell you that her work, "Takes inspiration from the beauty of the imperfect, the impermanent and the incomplete."
Anna's earthy take on life has turned her into an, "information hoover!" You feel brain dead after a 10 minute conversation because she will hoover up any and ALL information you are prepared to give her. Every demonstrator who has met or tutored her since the Centigrade show has been blown away by her enthusiasm, willingness to learn and also her ability to SHARE all she learns with her fellow students. The ability to share with your fellow students when ultimately your livelihood depends on your knowledge is commendable. (Anna has been asked to do a demonstration at Centigrade - 2nd Fire on 27 Sept 2009!)
Ultimately Anna will find her own style, but at the moment she is happy to experiment with all forms of Kiln Fired Art in the hope that at the end of the day becoming a successful working UK artist is not........just a dream.
