Annie Stapleton

Born in Scunthorpe in 1951, Annie's father served in the RAF and she travelled around Great Britain and Germany, finally settling in Lincolnshire in 1967, where in 1971 she married Peter and had two children.

Having always been interested in Art and Craftwork, Annie decided to enrol onto a china painting course at an adult education centre in 1987, she soon became addicted and two years later, bought her first kiln, two years after that she had a studio built in the garden!

Today Annie teaches and demonstrates around Great Britain and Holland, takes on commission work and runs weekend courses in her studio. Annie has won a silver and a bronze ribbon at world conventions in America. She has had three of her media pictures transferred into cross stitch kits by the largest stitching company in the world – DMC, who have also commissioned other designs for future kits. The mixed media pictures are unique, they combine the two arts Annie enjoys the most – porcelain painting and embroidery / collage work.
