Janice lives in the busy holiday resort of Southport. She studied ceramics and gained a BA Hons in Ceramic Tableware at The University of Central Lancashire. During the course she was encouraged to experiment with many types of clay and encouraged to develop her own style, finally settling with porcelain as it worked best with the firing she wished to use. Janice then studied part-time towards an MA in ceramics.
Janice is inspired by her surroundings and incorporates a variety of organic material and oxides to her work to produce stunning effects. In recent years Janice has also worked with local junior schools by giving workshops which is an opportunity to pass on her skills to the young designers of the future.
Janice is a member of both Northern Potters and The Art and Craft Guild of Lancashire, and is available for workshops in ceramics and sculpture for all age groups and abilities. If you would like further information please contact the artist directly.
